County Wide Food Drive 

Schenectady Shares is addressing the critical issue of food insecurity across Schenectady County by providing food and support to thousands of families in need.

  • Sponsorships are essential to secure fresh ingredients and help prepare hot, nutritious meals for those in need.

  • Schenectady Shares works with more than 20 food pantries to ensure food reaches those who need it most.

Collection bins are placed at partnering organizations across the county to collect non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products.

MOST NEEDED ITEMS:

All items must be in original packaging, unopened, and not expired.

Kidney or Black Beans, Black-Eyed Peas, Chickpeas, Lentils

Spices:
Adobo Seasoning, Cayenne, Miso, Cumin, Curry, Sazon

Grains and Flours:
Barley, Millet, Sorghum, Masa, Rice Flour

Dried Fruits:
Apricots, Dates, Raisins, Fig

  • Low sodium, low sugar, and whole grain foods are preferred.
